  • The shingle beach is just a 20 minute walk along a footpath which takes you through a quiet patchwork of fields, away from traffic.
  • Further afield, just 3 miles down the road, Bawdsey Quay has a small sandy beach looking out over the Deben estuary, Bawdsey Manor, the home to the birth of radar and the historic transmitter block.
  • At Hollesley, 3 miles in the other direction, you'll find the Suffolk Punch Trust, the home of this rare breed of horse.
  • Heading back along the road to Woodbridge is the National Trust Sutton Hoo site, the fascinating Anglo-Saxon burial grounds.
  • There are several golf courses nearby, and if golf isn't for you there are plenty of other activities available locally such as sailing and horse riding.
  • With it's acres of coastline, estuaries, heaths and forests it's a great place for birdwatching, fishing, walking, cycling or just enjoying the great outdoors
